Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how CodePeet (“CodePeet”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the CodePeet website, applications, and services (the “Service”). We have tried to write it in plain language. By using CodePeet, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information you give us
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and username, along with a password or, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile details Google shares with us (such as your name, email, and profile picture). We also collect any profile details you add, the content you post (discussion posts, comments, solutions, and contributed problems), the payout details you provide for contribute-to-earn, and anything you send us in support messages.
2. Information we collect automatically
As you use CodePeet, we collect information about how you use the Service — such as problems you attempt, your progress, activity, and preferences — as well as device and log data like your IP address, browser and device type, pages you view, and timestamps. We also use session identifiers stored in cookies to keep you securely signed in.
3. Information from third parties
We receive limited information from services we work with: Google provides basic profile information when you use Google sign-in; our payment provider, Razorpay, confirms the status of your payments — we do not receive or store your full card details; and we receive referral information when someone joins CodePeet through your referral link.
4. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide and personalize the Service and track your learning progress.
- Power the AI mentor and generate responses to your prompts.
- Process payments and contributor payouts, and prevent fraud and abuse.
- Keep your account and the Service secure.
- Communicate with you, including service messages and — where permitted — product updates you can opt out of.
- Understand how CodePeet is used so we can improve it.
- Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
5. The AI mentor and your inputs
When you use the AI mentor, your prompts and related context are processed to generate responses and may be used to maintain and improve the feature. Please do not enter sensitive personal information into the AI mentor.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies to sign you in and keep your session secure; these are required for the Service to work, and we store your session in secure, HttpOnly cookies. We do not currently use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we add analytics or similar tools in the future, we will update this policy. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling essential cookies may prevent you from signing in.
7. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- With service providers who help us run CodePeet — such as Razorpay for payments, Google for sign-in, and our hosting and email providers — under confidentiality obligations.
- With other users, where you choose to make content public, such as discussion posts, your public profile, or contributed content.
- With authorities or others when we are required to by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of CodePeet, our users, or the public.
- With a successor entity if CodePeet is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
8. Legal bases for processing
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data to perform our contract with you (to provide the Service), for our legitimate interests (such as security and improving CodePeet), with your consent where required (for example, optional communications), and to comply with our legal obligations.
9. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it, unless we must keep it longer for legal, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons — for example, payment and payout records.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including secure session cookies and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International data transfers
CodePeet and our service providers may process your information in countries other than the one you live in, and these countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards to protect your information when it is transferred.
12. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can update most of your account information in your settings. If you would like your account and personal data deleted, or want to exercise any other right, email us at support@codepeet.com and we will respond as required by applicable law.
13. Children’s privacy
CodePeet is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.
14. Links to other sites
CodePeet may link to websites and services we do not operate. Their privacy practices are their own, and we encourage you to review their policies before sharing your information with them.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version and change the "last updated" date above, and we will notify you of material changes. If you keep using CodePeet after the changes take effect, you accept the updated policy.
16. Contact us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, want a copy of your data, or would like your data deleted, contact us at support@codepeet.com.
