Work from home ruined my social life

Been WFH for 3 years now. While I love the flexibility and no commute, I've become extremely isolated. My entire social circle was from office and now I barely talk to anyone.

Other WFH devs - how do you maintain a social life? Co-working spaces? Meetups? Or just accepted the trade-off?

I'm seriously considering going back to office just for the social aspect, which feels absurd.

I've kinda accepted the trade-off. I focus more on family and old friends. Not the same as office pals but it works for me.

Honestly, some hybrid work might be a good solution. Best of both worlds, if your company allows it.

I totally feel you, Lakshay. I started going to meetups for tech talks and hobby groups. It helps a lot and I met some great people!

You could try joining online communities related to your interests, then transition to IRL meetups. Online friends aren't the same but it's a start!

Another idea is to pick up a hobby that naturally involves groups, like a sports league or art class.

Tbh, co-working spaces worked wonders for me. I met a bunch of folks who were in the same boat. Plus it gives a bit of office vibe without the corporate drama.
