What keeps you motivated to keep solving problems?

Some days I just don't want to open a single problem. Especially after a rejection.

What keeps you going? For me:

  • Seeing the progress bar fill up on sheets
  • The satisfaction of solving a hard problem
  • Having friends who are also prepping
  • Remembering why I started (better career, better pay)

But honestly, some days nothing works and I just binge Netflix. And that's okay too I think.

How do you stay motivated?

I feel you, Smriti. For me, it's about the little wins. Like when I finally get a bug that's been driving me nuts out of my code. What do you do when just nothing seems to work?

One thing that keeps me motivated is tracking my improvement over time. Seeing how much faster I can solve problems now compared to a few months ago is a big morale booster.

For me, setting small, manageable goals each week makes a big difference. I used to aim too high and burn out fast.

Honestly, sometimes I just take a break. Giving myself permission to rest makes it easier to come back stronger.

I think being part of a study group helps. Knowing others are counting on me to show up and share solutions pushes me to practice even when I'm not feeling it.

I think it's okay to have off days. In fact, they're necessary! I feel guilty sometimes but then remind myself that everyone needs a mental health day.
