The harsh truth about the tech job market in 2025
Let's be real - the market is tough right now. Here's what I'm seeing:
- Fewer openings compared to 2021-22
- Companies are much more selective
- 500+ applicants for every good position
- Ghosting is the norm
- Salary growth has slowed down
But it's not all doom and gloom:
- Good engineers are always in demand
- AI/ML roles are growing
- The bar has gone up but so has the quality of candidates
Just want people to set realistic expectations. It might take longer but persistence pays off.
