Remote work in India - which companies still offer it?

Post-pandemic most companies have gone hybrid or full RTO. Compiling a list of companies that still offer permanent remote:

Fully Remote:

  • Automattic
  • GitLab
  • Toptal
  • Turing
  • Some early-stage startups

Flexible Hybrid (1-2 days office):

  • Atlassian
  • Thoughtspot
  • Some teams at Microsoft

Please add to this list if you know more. Remote work with an Indian salary (not US rates) is fine — I mainly want the flexibility.

Also — do fully remote roles pay less than office-based ones?

Hey Sweta, add Infosys to the hybrid list. They're doing 2 days in office for some teams. But it varies a lot depending on the project you're on.

From what I've seen, fully remote roles sometimes pay less because they factor in cost of living adjustments. But I've also come across remote jobs that pay the same regardless of location. Totally depends on the company!

Great list! I'd add Zapier to the fully remote category. They've been remote-first since before the pandemic, and I know a few folks there who love it.
