Paytm interview rounds for experienced developers (3-5 YOE)

Sharing my Paytm interview experience for anyone targeting them:

Round 1 (Machine Coding - 90 min): Design a splitwise-like expense sharing app. Had to code it end to end with proper OOP.

Round 2 (Problem Solving): Two DSA problems - one on arrays, one on trees. Medium difficulty.

Round 3 (System Design): Design a payment gateway system. They went deep into failure handling, idempotency, and retry mechanisms.

Round 4 (VP Round): Mostly behavioral + deep dive into one past project.

Got the offer. Comp was decent. The machine coding round was the differentiator - practice LLD!
