Negotiation tip: always negotiate the competing offer, not the initial one
A trick that worked for me: when you have multiple offers, don't just tell Company A "Company B is offering X." Instead, call Company B and say Company A offered more (even if they didn't yet). Get B to raise their offer, then use THAT higher number to negotiate with A.
I know it sounds aggressive but it's standard practice. Companies expect it. As long as you're professional and not lying about exact numbers, it's fair game.
This got me an extra 5 LPA on my final offer. Worth the discomfort of negotiating.
