My study plan that got me offers from 3 FAANG companies

After a lot of trial and error, here's the plan that worked for me:

Month 1-2: Foundations

  • Arrays, Strings, HashMap, Two pointers
  • Binary Search (all variations)
  • Sorting algorithms
  • ~100 problems

Month 3-4: Intermediate

  • Trees, Graphs, BFS/DFS
  • Dynamic Programming (start with 1D, then 2D)
  • Backtracking
  • ~120 problems

Month 5: Advanced

  • Tries, Segment trees
  • Advanced graph (Dijkstra, Topological sort)
  • Hard DP problems
  • ~60 problems

Month 6: System Design + Mock interviews

  • 2-3 system design problems per week
  • Mock interviews on Pramp
  • Review weak areas

Total: ~280 problems, 6 months. Consistency > quantity.

Interesting strategy! I'm currently stuck on dynamic programming. How did you get over the DP hurdle, especially 2D problems?
