How much do tech leads make in non-FAANG companies?

Most salary discussions focus on FAANG. But what about the vast majority of developers at:

  • Mid-size product companies (Zoho, Freshworks, Razorpay)
  • Large IT companies (Infosys, Wipro, HCL) in tech roles
  • Indian unicorns (CRED, Slice, Jupiter)
  • B2B SaaS companies

Tech leads (6-8 YOE) at these companies, what are you making? I'll start: 35 LPA at an Indian SaaS company, 7 YOE, Bangalore.

In my experience, salaries can vary quite a bit. I'm at a mid-sized company (similar to Razorpay) and make around 30 LPA with 6 YOE. But I know folks at larger IT firms who only make 20-25 LPA. Location seems to matter too — Bangalore vs. smaller cities.
