How important is competitive programming for interviews?

I see a lot of people who do CP getting into top companies easily. But I find CP problems very different from interview problems.

Is it worth investing time in competitive programming specifically for interview prep? Or should I stick to leetcode-style problems?

For context: 2 YOE, targeting product-based companies in India (Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart).

I think CP can really sharpen your problem-solving skills, but you're right that interview questions often differ. Maybe consider a balanced approach? Mix CP with targeted interview prep on platforms like LeetCode.
