Interview
How I went from 0 to getting a SDE role in 6 months (non-CS background)

I'm a mechanical engineering graduate who switched to software. Here's my journey:
Month 1-2: Learned Python properly. Built small projects.
Month 3-4: Started DSA from scratch. Used codepeet sheets to structure my prep. Solved 2-3 problems daily.
Month 5: Started system design basics + applied to companies
Month 6: Gave interviews, got rejected from 4, finally got an offer from a mid-size product company.
Key lessons:
- Don't compare yourself with CS grads who've been coding since college
- Quality > quantity in problem solving
- Mock interviews are underrated
- It's OK to not understand DP immediately, it clicks eventually
