Day in the life of an SDE at Amazon India

A lot of people ask me about WLB at Amazon so here's my typical day (SDE-1, Hyderabad):

9:30 AM - Log in, check emails, Slack messages
10:00 AM - Daily standup (15 mins)
10:15 AM - 1:00 PM - Coding, code reviews, debugging
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM - Lunch break
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM - More coding, design discussions
4:00 PM - 5:30 PM - Meetings (sprint planning, 1:1s)
5:30 PM - 6:30 PM - Wrap up, respond to CRs

I usually log off by 7 PM. On-call weeks are rough though - had to wake up at 3 AM once for a production issue.

Overall WLB is decent, team dependent. AMA.
