Contract/freelance vs full-time - pros and cons?

Got offered a 6-month contract role at a FAANG company (through a vendor) vs a full-time offer at a Series B startup.

Contract: Higher hourly rate, FAANG brand, but no benefits/PF/insurance, job insecurity
Full-time: Lower CTC, equity (uncertain value), but stability, insurance, growth

I'm 2 YOE so not sure if contract roles are wise this early. Would love to hear from folks who've done contract work — does it help or hurt your career long-term?

Also, do FAANG contract workers get converted to FTE?

I've done both contract work and full-time positions, and it really depends on what you're looking for right now. FAANG on your resume can be a huge boost, but you might miss out on the learning experience and growth that often comes with a startup. If you're aiming for stability and a chance to wear many hats, the startup could be good. But the FAANG contract might give you a serious networking boost.
