Atlassian interview - they asked me to refactor existing code

Interesting interview experience at Atlassian. Instead of the usual "solve this algorithm" format, they gave me a piece of poorly written code and asked me to refactor it.

The code was a mess - god class, no separation of concerns, hardcoded values everywhere. I had to identify code smells, suggest improvements, and actually refactor parts of it.

This felt so much more practical than typical DSA interviews. Wish more companies did this. Anyone else had this format?
